The Embassy of Belgium in Kampala is looking for a consultant, to be operational on a very short notice, mainly providing support to the Education Development Partners (EDP) Group within the framework of Uganda’s National Development Plan and the Education Sector Development Plan. The EDP is a forum for coordination between all bilateral and multilateral development partners supporting education in Uganda. The consultant will provide high-level consultancy services to the EDP-group and the Embassy of Belgium in Uganda in its chairmanship of the EDP-group.
As such, the consultant will ensure optimal communication and cooperation between the EDP-members and liaise with the MoES (Ministry of Education and Sports). A more elaborate job description of tasks related to the EDP-group can be provided upon written request to Ms Rosemary Sevume (email@example.com). However, the consultant could also be requested to perform other tasks related to areas of Belgium’s Development Cooperation Program in Uganda, in particular with respect to the digital agenda and the rights based approach, or could be involved in the daily monitoring of the political and economic situation in Uganda and South Sudan.
The total duration of the consultancy is 5 months, covering the period 1/11/2017 – 31/3/2018. The consultant should have a university degree, a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, excellent liaison and general analytical and communication skills (written and oral), very good hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook, proficiency in English and in French or Dutch. Work experience in an international organization or a diplomatic post would be an asset.
